Scope:

The Stewardship and Donor Communications Intern supports the Advancement Team by helping carry out donor stewardship and communication efforts that strengthen relationships with supporters and communicate the impact of their generosity. This role focuses on donor care, acknowledgement processes and impact storytelling. (Approximately 10 hours a week)

Reports To: Director of Advancement

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with donor stewardship activities, including preparing and processing acknowledgement letters and maintaining letter and email templates

  • Gather, create and distribute monthly stories of impact for donors through the organization’s giving platform and other communication channels

  • Support the sending of donor appreciation gifts by coordinating orders, preparing mailings and collecting handwritten notes from leadership

  • Assist with the creation and execution of stewardship pieces such as mailings, printed materials and small appreciation initiatives

  • Help maintain and organize the donor database to ensure accurate and consistent records

  • Assist with procurement tasks related to donor appreciation items, including researching options, requesting quotes and placing orders

  • Ensure all Advancement communications and materials align with branding and messaging standards

  • Support the Advancement Strategy through timely and accurate execution of assigned projects

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements:

  • An evangelical believer actively involved in a church and living out his/her faith daily; agrees with Connect Ministries’ mission and supports its vision, values, and philosophy

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.

  • Experience with Canva preferred

  • Ability to manage detailed tasks with accuracy and consistency

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Attention to detail in data entry and external communications

  • Pleasant demeanor

  • Creative and proactive thinker who takes initiative

  • Interest in learning about donor stewardship, communications and nonprofit development

  • Willingness to learn and grow in the use of CRM and giving platforms
